Originally she is from Prentiss, Mississippi, and from Memphis, Tennessee. Ms. Garner retired from Memphis City Schools where she was Center Administrator for the Memphis City Schools Mental Health Center and the coordinator of Safe and Drug Free Schools. She has been a consultant and trainer for FEMA in the Multi Hazard Emergency Training for Schools program. and has also served as a teacher trainer in alcohol, drug and violence prevention curricula. She has a daughter who graduated from Rollins and attends Barry Law and a son who is a senior at Winter Park High.
