University of Central
Florida professor, Dr. Tom Murray visited teachers and staff at the September 24th Faculty Meeting to present the school with a painting done by an orphaned student in
Vietnam.
He explained the conditions and challenges of the country and gave some details about a grant proposal that he has undertaken in respect to Vietnam. If awarded, two Hillcrest Vietnamese bilingual program teachers, Ms. Hai Anh Nguyen and Ms. Marie Nguyen, will stay in Vietnam for a month, attend ten or more curriculum and teaching seminars both in Vietnam and San Francisco, and collaborate with teachers from a number of states across the United States.
Thank you, Dr. Murray, for this lovely painting. It is a marvelous work and will be displayed proudly in the Hillcrest front office hallway.
